Artist Biography
Nancy was born in Detroit, Michigan. Family moves would take her to Alabama and Canada. She first became interested in art as a child. Through the encouragement of her mother and father, she became interested in oil and water color painting, pen and ink, and ceramics. Always loving the creativity, she discovered that the art of stained glass would be her passion. In 1978 she began creating custom stained glass lamps, windows, terrariums, and suncatchers for a local store, The China Nook Gift Shop. Through this outlet she was able to expand her knowledge of the craft. She loves working with the customer to assist them in determining exactly what unique product would best fulfill their desire. In addition, Nancy has also worked as a custom stained glass cabinet door designer for both U.S. and Canadian lumber companies. Nancy can design any type of pattern; therefore, she is very flexible in being able to produce whatever design the client would like. Designs can be developed from photographs, magazines, wallpaper, greeting cards, etc. The possibilities are endless. Nancy hopes that in some way, her artwork will bring enjoyment to her customers for many, many years to come.
